Not smelt the original but I’m more than happy with PP version. On first spray I was transported to the spice markets of Morocco. It’s a beautiful complex fragrance smells beautiful. Definitely my style of fragrance preference. Recommend
Dame Painting For Women - 1314
I have not smelled the og but I love this fragrance. I am very much into Middle eastern fragrances and have a large collection. This perfume fits right in
The wife loves it
I haven't smelled the original. It has been called a masterpiece. In my view, PP have created another masterpiece in their similar version. But it isn't a scent for everyone. As you can see from the perfume notes listed, it begins with a spicy, slightly fruity, very faint rose opening. But the main scent is flowery patchouli surrounded with a musky oud, sandalwood, amber and benzoin base. I'm not a great fan of patchouli. But in this scent it's been kept in check and really works to keep the scent feminine in the presence of the more masculine musk, oud base. It's definitely a cold weather, comforting scent. It's also an incredibly strong scent with great projection and longevity. So a very little goes a long way. It's a scent for the 35+ ladies. It doesn't have a rose scent that I can detect. That was one of the complaints about the original. So I use it with PP's Grandeur Flower, my favourite amongst PP's rose scents. Grandeur Flower is a very realistic rose scent. It's also very powerful. So a tiny amount of Grandeur Flower and Dame Painting is all you need to create a truly wonderful, feminine, cold weather scent. By the way, the original of Grandeur Flower has also been called a masterpiece. I have many of PP's rose scents. Grandeur Flower is my favourite. But there are others like Star Lady and Monarchs' Flower that you may want to check out. The price at Harrods for 100ml of the original of Monarchs' Flower will cost you £375. So when I put a little of PP's £4 for 3ml oil on my wrist I always can't help smiling.
