Not familiar to the prototype, I get pretty realistic hyacinth scent, which I like. I also asked my non-perfumanic husband to tell what it smells like, and he told it smells like soap. I laughed first, because 'soap' is just one of his 3 possible categories for characterizing fragrances along with 'vanilla' and 'incense', but then had to agree that it does smell like that purple color lavender scented soap, our bathroom classics. I still like the scent anyway! :)

This took me a while to get used to but once it dies down I really love it. Very crisp fresh scent.

I love how green and real the hyacinth is in this fragrance. It settles down to a nice sophisticated and powdery base. Love it

I haven't tried the original so can't compare them. I do love this, I would wear it in the evening
